The British Library website has the hours and other information for visitors, but the rabbit holes you can follow include:
- a (searchable) digital newspaper archive
- online exhibitions, this one is for the Magna Carta with articles, videos, and teaching resources
- a section on accents and dialects of Britian
- a timeline of English literature with samples you can read online (just in case you're interested in surgical procedures from the 1300s, or food in the 1600s, or satirical letters "written" by a female amateur scientist in the 1820s- to be honest, I had to look up some words to understand the puns in the last one.)
- teaching resources by age group, subject (English literature, history, citizenship), and resource with downloadable pdfs of lesson plans.
This is an ideal rabbit hole for anyone interested in English literature or history. It has resources for both teachers and students.
